Amy Thomas

Amy J. Thomas serves as Executive Director of the Monroe County School Boards Association (MCSBA), where she partners with all the public school districts across the Rochester region. In this role, she designs and delivers professional development for boards of education and district leaders and leads advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels. She collaborates with organizations including the New York State School Boards

Association (NYSSBA), the Council of Local School Boards Associations (COLSBA), Golisano Children’s Hospital, the Monroe County School Attorneys Group, and ACT for Education. Amy also provides leadership and board governance presentations at the University of Rochester. Prior to her current role, Amy served nine years on the Pittsford Central School District Board of Education (2013–2022), including five years as president and one year as vice president. She also served as president and vice president of MCSBA and co-chaired the Calkins Road Middle School Parent Teacher Student Association. 

Amy is the recipient of the 2023 Pittsford Parent Teacher Student Association Honorary Life Membership Award and the 2024 Rochester Business Journal Women of Excellence Award. She holds a B.S. in Education from SUNY Geneseo and is a proud Pittsford parent of four children who attended Allen Creek Elementary School, Calkins Road Middle School, and Sutherland High School.
